Position Responsibilities: International taxes impact many segments of the business on a daily basis, especially in the transfer pricing and foreign tax credit areas. This position reports to the International Tax Director and requires a strategic partnering with the financial management team.
- Primarily responsible for all compliance related aspects of international corporate taxation worldwide including income taxes, VAT taxes, import/export taxes and certain other international taxes.
- Assist with the development and execution of strategies and policies related to international taxes in line with the goals and objectives of the tax department and the company.
- Assist with all international tax planning and research.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws in all international jurisdictions in which the company operates (40+ countries, 30+ legal entities).
- Review and preparation of international components of US federal income tax return including Forms 5471, 8873, 1118 (foreign tax credits) and Subpart F computations.
- Review and preparation annually of Earnings and profits and basis calculations for foreign subsidiaries.
- Establish a thorough understanding of compliance and reporting systems and procedures in the tax department while working to continually refine and improve procedures to gain operating efficiencies and improved statutory tax reporting.
- Primarily responsible for establishing and maintaining compliance and reporting procedures for all new foreign jurisdictions.
- Assist with all international tax audits, appeals and litigation matters and international aspects of U.S. audits.
- Review and prepare the international components of the current effective tax rate.
- Review and assist in the calculation of the separate foreign subsidiary tax provisions.
- Review and assist foreign controllers with annual foreign subsidiary tax filings ensuring consistent global tax positions and 100% compliance with local country tax filing requirements.
- Enhance corporate global cash management and investment policy via tax effective repatriation and capitalization policies.
- Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of all documentation to ensure global transfer pricing compliance.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act as it relates to international taxes.
- Monitor country-by-country tax legislation changes to evaluate the impact on IGT’s foreign operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree preferably in accounting or finance
- CPA, Masters Degree in Tax or JD preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of international tax experience in Big 4 firm and/or a corporate tax department, with a minimum of 2 years of transfer pricing experience. Experience should include 3+ years with companies with revenues exceeding $1 billion.
- An understanding of FAS109 and GAAP required.
- Good understanding of international tax principals and tax research skills.
- Experience with SAP and large corporate tax return compliance software preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with Strong PC skills.
- Communication skills and effective interpersonal skills are key as well as the ability to organize and compile large amounts of data logically and perform complex reconciliations.
