The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Tax Accounting Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Assisting with calculating and preparing the quarterly income tax provision and supporting workpapers pursuant to ASC 740, including return to provision adjustments, valuation allowances, deferred taxes, income taxes payable, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Collaborating with global tax and accounting personnel to ensure accuracy and proper reporting for current and deferred income taxes, income tax expense, and accrued income taxes within OneSource Tax Provision and the general ledger on a quarterly basis.
  • Preparing reports requested by, and in response to inquiries from internal and / or external auditors.
  • Performing internal controls processes to ensure accuracy of the income tax provision calculation.
  • Preparing workpapers to support annual form 10K footnote and quarterly form 10Q disclosures.
  • Driving prioritization and process improvements in tax accounting.
  • Partnering with other tax department personnel and/or company personnel as needed for special projects.

 

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Two (2) years of income tax or accounting experience in a public accounting firm or large, multi-entity corporate tax or finance department in a private, public, government or military environment

 

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • ASC 740, FIN 48, and Income tax accounting experience and knowledge base
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Applications
  • CPA certification
  • Master of Business Taxation
  • Proficient in use of OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Proficient in use of SAP

 

Work location: Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

The expected compensation range for this position is $79,971 - $97,742, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
