The Director of Tax is responsible for preparing the consolidated U.S. tax returns for Superior Group of Companies (SGC), along with various state income tax returns. This role performs all financial record keeping related to tax accounting, including the tax provision and deferred tax accounting. 



  • Oversees and manages tax projects on a global scale
  • Prepares international and domestic U.S. tax return for SGC and related supporting schedules
  • Prepares state tax returns for SGC and subsidiaries
  • Prepares monthly tax provision and related work papers including deferred tax schedules
  • Monitors and reviews tax legislation to assess applicability to the Company
  • Prepares tax-related disclosures for financial statements and SEC filings
  • Works internally and with external advisors on tax strategies
  • Implements and maintains transfer pricing policies and agreements with foreign affiliates
  • Directs compliance of sales & use, property and other miscellaneous taxes
  • Provides support to management and other departments (accounting, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, HR, sales, etc.) on tax-related issues
  • Manages all tax-related audit processes (IRS, state, sales, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance in internal controls and SOX for all tax functions
  • Records stock option and SARS exercises and related tax benefits



  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Taxation
  • 10+ years of corporate tax preparation experience
  • Deep, substantial knowledge and experience with domestic corporate tax concepts and applicability is required
  • Experience with International corporate tax concepts and applicability is required
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with tax-related software packages for federal, state, sales and 1099


  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP system a plus
  • CPA strongly preferred
